 Concerning Our Religious Liberty |
|
Archbishop Schnurr has sent us an urgent communication concerning our religious liberty. Specifically, mandates from the Obama administration for healthcare coverage that are in direct opposition to the practice of our Catholic faith.

 Celebrate Catholic Schools Week! |
|
PleaseClick Here for a link to a video message from Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr
Excerpt from letter dated January, 19, 2012 – Office of the Archbishop of Cincinnati
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, I am filled with gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our teachers, administrators, and staff members. Without their efforts, our schools could not be successful. Likewise, I am thankful for the many benefactors and volunteers who support our schools. Finally, I am deeply grateful for the parents and students within our schools; I thank you for your trust as we educate the next generation in the Catholic faith…
Our Catholic schools are an essential part of the ministry of our Church.
May God continue to bless our schools in abundance, and provide us with a vibrant and hopeful future.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr

Pope Benedict XVI - General Audience |
|
BENEDICT XVI
GENERAL AUDIENCE
Paul VI Audience Hall
Wednesday, 25 January 2012
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In our continuing catechesis on Christian prayer, we now turn to the priestly prayer which Jesus offered at the Last Supper (cf. Jn 17:1-26). Against the backdrop of the Jewish feast of expiation Yom Kippur, Jesus, priest and victim, prays that the Father will glorify him in this, the hour of his sacrifice of reconciliation. He asks the Father to consecrate his disciples, setting them apart and sending them forth to continue his mission in the world. Christ also implores the gift of unity for all those who will believe in him through the preaching of the apostles. His priestly prayer can thus be seen as instituting the Church, the community of the disciples who, through faith in him, are made one and share in his saving mission. In meditating upon the Lord’s priestly prayer, let us ask the Father for the grace to grow in our baptismal consecration and to open our own prayers to the needs of our neighbors and the whole world. Let us also pray, as we have just done in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, for the gift of the visible unity of all Christ’s followers, so that the world may believe in the Son and in the Father who sent him.

IHM Twinning Relationship – Featured in The Catholic Register |
Twinning Relationships Enhance Concept of Mission
by Eileen Connelly OSU
As of this past June, 159 adults and youth from IHM have visited the center, said Sue Keefe, an IHM parishioner who chairs the twinning relationship. Several visitors from the center have also traveled to the Cincinnati area each year. The parish supports the center through activities such as an annual garage sale, student sponsorships and the collection of shoes and backpacks for children there by students from area Catholic schools.
The true meaning of the relationship, though, lies in what the visitors from IHM have learned from their twinning partners a world away. “They have such faith in God and such hope,” said Keefe. “It always amazes people when we go to visit that they share their faith so willingly.”
