PEA Meeting Agenda September 17, 2010   1pm

Place: Lourdes Room

Prayed the Rosary and Stewardship prayer

Present: Jeanine Schmolt, Grace Schmidlin, Sally Schroder

Feedback on the Science and Eucharistic Miracles (Sunday evening):

We noted the zeal that Tim Francis, the presenter, had for the Eucharist in general and were inspired by the video presentation. It added depth to our belief in the True Presence of Christ. We remarked on the need for confession. PEA put a new book with Reconciliation stories in the chapel last week. Two  other ideas were directly related to what Tim said: we’d like to order tee shirts for Spring with a monstrance and the words: Ask me about adoration. (spring time of evangelization!) He also mentioned billboards/electronic signs to spread the word. Two days later, we were delighted to see the e-sign with the words: “Seeking a personal relationship with Jesus? Spend some time in our chapel”. The picture accompanying it is the face of Jesus.  Very effective. Thanks to Dave Auxier!  www.youshallbelieve.com has wonderful information and a free booklet you can download “Down to Heaven”.  We got 7 new adorers after the presentation and three people bought ‘kits’ to enthrone their homes. One adorer/parishioner asked us to expand the hours of exposition.

Sally Schroder and Grace Schmidlin met  with Dave Auxier on September 15. Highlights include:

New padding and material has been purchased for our kneelers in the chapel. Steve Green will recover them.  Also, there was a good cleaning planned for this week as regards the spider eggs under tables, etc. and Brad Puckett is looking at contracts to have all of the carpeting in the church and chapel cleaned.

Floral arrangements will be placed in the chapel at Easter and Christmas and The Feast of the Sacred Heart as long as we care to their watering. Sally volunteered to do this. (If there is an extra poinsettia, it will be placed in front of the enthroned Sacred Heart picture.)

Regarding the third annual Rosary Rally for Peace honoring Our Lady of Fatima’s request:  The date was approved for Saturday, October 16, at noon in the East parking lot. Watch for information in the bulletin, listen for it on Sacred Heart Radio, and find it on our church bulletin boards. Please join us to honor Our Mother’s request to pray the Rosary. St Louis De Montfort says that our prayer has strength when people gather in groups.

Regarding the catechesis for personal consecrations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary via St. Maximilian Kolbe or St. Louis M. De Montfort: Dave saw value in our parishioners having knowledge. Mary always leads us to her Son.  The outline for the bulletins in October and the first week of November was approved.  Articles about the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue  (who is scheduled to be with us at Immaculate Heart of Mary Wednesday, November 10) will bookend the bulletin pieces.  Consecration will be even more relevant as that is the main purpose of the IPVS statue . Our parish consecration will be renewed.

Tentative plans were approved by Dave. The school children and their parents will have a procession (Knights of Columbus?), the custodian of the statue will speak, and Mary will be crowned. There will be a Rosary, etc. along with a Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Dave will explore about the scapular ceremony.  Then, veneration of the statue will be silent punctuated with devotions to Our Lady until 7pm when the parish at large is invited to hear the talk, pray a Rosary, and renew our parish consecration. At 10pm, the statue will go on to the next parish.

End of meeting with Dave.   ******************************

Grace and Sally need clean, updated copies of each Hourly Chart. We’ll wait until the October 1 deadline for all of our captains to ‘track” the attendance of their adorers and to update their charts. This is so important to the functioning of our ministry.
