Fr. Tom grew up in Deer Park. He is one of three
children, parents deceased. He has 2 sisters. His
eldest sister Judy is a Religious Sister, and is currently a
Pastoral Administrator of a Parish in Appalachia. His
other sister Mary Beth is married with 2 daughters.
Fr. Tom went to St. John's grade school, and then went on to St.
Xavier High were he graduated in 1969. Fr. Tom went
directly to St. Gregory's Seminary where he graduated in 1973
with a degree in English and in 1977 he received an M.A. in
sacred theology from Mt. St. Mary's seminary. In 1984 he
received a M.Ed. from Xavier University in education
administration, and four years later he earned an Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati.
Fr. Tom took
a teaching assignment in 1977 at Moeller High School. At Moeller
he was initially Religious Department Head, and then went on to
be Assistant Principal until 1990. He also was freshman baseball
coach, and reserve soccer coach at Moeller. During his
years at Moeller he was an Associate Pastor at Sacred Heart in
Reading, Good Shepherd, All Saints, and St. Susanna's.
In 1990
Fr. Tom became Principal of Springfield Catholic Central High
School where he stayed until 1996. Fr. Tom, through his 19
years of secondary in education, has developed a great passion
for Catholic Education.
He became Pastor of St. Margaret of York
in 1996 where he is finishing his 2nd term. Fr. Tom still keeps
close connections with Moeller High School where he is a
member of the Principals Advisory Board...
